TSLI Summit was launched in 1993 through a
grant from the HUD Mc Kinney Program. Summit provides permanent housing
with support services for formerly homeless persons with mental
illness. Both individuals and families are served; individuals
share houses with other same-sexed peers while families live in
individual units. All units are located in Suffolk County,
NY.
The goals of the Summit program include:
- Providing residential stability
- Increasing life skills and income
potential
- Encouraging self-determination
Resident fees are calculated as the
highest of:
- 30% of adjusted gross income
- 10% of net income
- Public Assistance received for housing
purposes
Summit staff provide supportive services
on site and refer clients to other services that are available
in the community:
