Transitional Services of NY for LI, Inc.

Summit

TSLI Summit was launched in 1993 through a grant from the HUD Mc Kinney Program. Summit provides permanent housing  with support services for formerly homeless persons with mental illness. Both individuals and families are served; individuals share houses with other same-sexed peers while families live in individual units. All units are located in Suffolk County, NY. 

The goals of the Summit program include:

  • Providing residential stability
  • Increasing life skills and income potential 
  • Encouraging self-determination

Resident fees are calculated as the highest of:

  • 30% of adjusted gross income 
  • 10% of net income
  • Public Assistance received for housing purposes

Summit staff provide supportive services on site and refer clients to other services that are available in the community:

  • Activities of Daily Living  skill development
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Medication Management
  • Information and referral
  • Recreation and Socialization
  • Symptom Management

  • Mental Health Treatment

  • Self -help groups

  • Recreation/Socialization
