Housing Assistance and Follow Up
HHB's Housing Assistance and Follow Up Program was initiated in 2001 through a grant from the Supplemental Homelessness Intervention Program. HHB's Housing Specialists assist homeless families to locate, transition into, and maintain permanent housing. Services include:
Housing Location Assistance Referrals to housing programs Leads on apartments Benefits advocacy Advocacy with landlords Transportation to view apartments	Follow Up Services Relocation assistance Case management Benefits advocacy Educational/vocational referrals Advocacy with landlords Emergency funds
Admission Criteria HHB serves homeless families in Suffolk County. Currently services are limited to families residing in HHB's shelter programs, or DSS funded motels. Additional criteria are as follows: Income cannot exceed 200% of the Federal poverty level Must be eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Family must be homeless and living in Suffolk County
